The O’Brien Clan Foundation
Established by Sir Conor Myles John O’Brien, The ÓBriain, Prince of Thomond, on the 17th of March, 1998, The O’Brien Clan Foundation serves the scholarship of young O’Briens, promoting awareness of our royal and ancient origins as the direct descendants of Ireland’s greatest High King, Brian Boru, advancing learning and appreciation of Irish heritage, and supporting peace and prosperity in Ireland.
Through 2011, the Board of The O’Brien Clan and The O’Brien Clan Foundation was re-organized to include Conor O’Brien, James O’Neill O’Brien, Bart O’Brien, Peter O’Brien, Moira O’Brien, Carter O’Brien, Morgan Llywelyn, Ray O’Brien, John O’Brien, and Paul O’Brien. Brief bios and photos can be found below.
This site is the focal point of The Clan and the means whereby you can plan on participating in Clontarf in Dublin in April of 2014.
Significant advancements have been underway in the board committees that consist of the Organizational Committee, the Fundraising Committee, the Scholarship Committee, the Web Design Committee, and the Battle of Clontarf Committee.
This is the start of a new era in the Foundation’s life when, with new enthusiasm and commitment, it can now begin to do what it was originally intended to do and much, much more. We encourage you to share your ideas with us or send them directly to John O’Brien, Board chair at lionsthree@aol.com. It is an exciting time to be Irish and to be an O’Brien.
We have not forgotten the efforts of many of you towards the Clan and the Clan Foundation. We have many people to show our appreciation to for their efforts in support of the Clan and the Clan Foundation since its inception and we will certainly officially acknowledge all who have helped. We ask that everyone stay involved or become involved and as you trace our activity through the information we will send to you and that you follow on the Website that you respond with your time, ideas, support and energy.
Kind Regards,
Conor O’Brien
