Famine 1848 Walk in Ballingarry.
Sir Conor O'Brien, The ÓBriain, is honored to lead the 2010 'Famine
1848 Walk' on Saturday, 31 July, at 3 PM, in Ballingarry, Co Tipperary.
Last year there were over 200 walkers. The Walk always takes place on
the last Saturday in July, the day of the Rising. All who are able are
encouraged to participate in this one-and-a-half mile walk of gently
ascending ground from the monument at the cross of the village of The
Commons to Famine Warhouse 1848, scene of O'Brien's Rising in 1848.
